Each child a Life-long inquirer
- To develop process skills through inquiry based learning.
- To develop inquisitive and investigate mind.
The Primary Science syllabus aims to provide students with experiences which build on their interest in and stimulate their curiosity about their environment, equip them with basic scientific terms and concepts to help them understand themselves and the world around them and prepare them towards using scientific knowledge and methods in making personal decisions. In line with these fundamental aims, the Science department has developed a structured Science framework consisting of a series of programmes catering to the diverse needs of our students. These programmes will provide learning opportunities to help our students make sense of the scientific learning that they encounter in the classroom and beyond.
Striving for Academic Excellence
Students learn Science through inquiry in the class. Regular activity based lessons are carried out to promote inquiry. Pupils at different levels are exposed to the use of advance equipment like microscope and datalogger in the practical classes. Technology is also harness to help students learn Science at their own pace through the Flip Classroom and Online portal. To cater to the different learning needs of the pupils, special enrichment classes are conducted for different groups of pupils.
Developing Interest in Science
Learning journeys and regular Science and environment theme programmes are organised to promote students interest in Science. All P3- P5 students are roaster to attend enrichment classes in Science Centre. Science is integrated in the Art, lower primary English and P5 camp. Students are also given opportunities to take part in national Science competitions and programmes.
