School Rules
SCHOOL RULES AND REGULATIONS
All Pioneer students must uphold the name of the school and maintain excellent conduct in and outside the school at all times. They are expected to be responsible, exercise good self-discipline and be exemplary in conduct and abide by school rules.

Safety and Responsibility

Look out for each other’s well-being and safety.

Act and play in a safe and responsible way.

Report any injuries, unsafe practices or faulty equipment to a teacher immediately.

Mask up when necessary and wash your hands regularly.
-
Keep the school clean at all times and do not litter.
-
School facilities are to be used according to the intended purposes. Students must abide by the rules at the respective facilities to ensure safety is not compromised.

Attendance

Daily attendance in school during term time is compulsory.
-
If a student is absent, he/she must submit a valid medical certificate or a letter of excuse (a maximum of 5 letters per semester) with documentary proof to the Form Teacher.

Family holidays and vacations during term time will be considered as Absent Without Valid Reasons. Reasons other than vacation will be considered on a case-by-case basis. The school will have to be informed in writing.

School Attire and General Appearances

Students are to wear the prescribed school uniform and any modification to the uniform is not allowed.

Students are to wear PE/House attire for all PE lessons and game events.

Both school uniform and PE/House polo shirts are to be tucked in neatly (Refer to Positive Disciplines in the next page).

Students entering the school premises outside curriculum time are to be in proper school attire. Students not in proper attire will not be allowed into the school premises.

Grooming

Hairstyles
-
Hair must be short and neatly combed.

For girls, long hair must be neatly tied-up or plaited with black rubber bands, ribbons or scrunchies.

Tinted or dyed hair is not allowed.

Only modest appropriate hairstyles are allowed (Refer to Page 11).

Male students must be clean-shaven, and not to wear beards or moustaches.

Shoes and Socks
-
Sports shoes are not allowed except during games/sports CCA.

Students are to wear only plain white socks which must fully cover the ankles.

Students are encouraged to wear the school socks.

Accessories
-
Fingernails are to be kept short, clean and unvarnished at all times.

Wearing of make-up or ornaments such as rings, bracelets, necklaces or bangles, whether religious or not, is not allowed.

Classroom Conduct (Before/During/After Lessons)
All students can help create a positive learning environment by adopting the following good attitude and behaviours:

Respect and greet all teachers and students.

Obey and abide by class rules.
-
Be attentive during lessons.
-
Complete your homework daily and submit it on time.

Mobile Phones / Smart Watches

Students are discouraged from bringing their mobile phones / smart watches to school. School will not be held responsible for any loss of mobile phones / smart watches.

Mobile phones must be switched off during school hours.
-
Students are not allowed to use smart watches to call or send text messages during school hours.

Confiscated mobile phones / smart watches will be returned only to parents/guardians.

Prohibited Items

All students are not allowed to have in their possession any weapon. They are also not allowed to bring any weapon-like item which can be used or intended to be used to cause harm to others.

Smoking or possession of tobacco products including e-cigarettes and vapes are not allowed.

Prohibited Items in School
The following items MUST NOT be brought to school:

Toys

Laser pointers

Hazardous items

Computer games
-
Matches and/or lighters
-
Card / board games
-
Sharp-pointed objects (e.g. pen-knife, scissors and metal ruler)

MP3 players, tablets, iPad or other electronic devices
-
Chewing gum
Confiscated items will be returned only to parents/guardians.
